Introduction
KSP Police Constable Recruitment 2026: Karnataka State Police (KSP), through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), has released an official recruitment notification (Notification No. 07/Direct-3(A)/5.6/2026-27 dated 10.07.2026) for filling 859 vacancies in the Kalyana Karnataka (Local Cadre 371-J) Cadre.
The recruitment drive is being conducted for Special Reserve Police Constable (KSRP), Police Constable (KSISF), and Special Reserve Police Constable (IRB) posts. Selection will be based on a single written competitive examination followed by Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Endurance Test (PET), and Medical Examination.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed 2nd PUC / Class 12th from the Karnataka Pre-University Education Board or possess an equivalent qualification.
- Equivalent Qualifications Accepted:
- CBSE Class 12 / ISCE Class 12.
- National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Higher Secondary Course / HSC.
- 3-Year Polytechnic Diploma (considered equivalent to PUC).
- 2-Year ITI Course (if passed 1 language course and 1 academic subject through NIOS/PU Board).
- JOC (Job Oriented Course).
- Note: Candidates awaiting final PUC results on the last date of application are not eligible.
Age Limit & Relaxations (As on 10/08/2026)
Minimum Age limit is 18 Years for all categories. Upper age limits include a one-time 5-year relaxation:
- General Merit (GM): Upper age limit is 33 Years.
- SC / ST / Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B: Upper age limit is 35 Years.
- Tribal Candidates (Living in Forest Areas of Karnataka): Upper age limit is 38 Years.
- Ex-Servicemen: Service rendered in Armed Forces + 3 Years relaxation.
Application Fee & Payment Mode
- General Merit & Categories 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B: ₹750/-
- SC / ST / Category-1 / Ex-Servicemen: ₹500/-
- Additional Post Option Fee: Candidates applying for more than one cadre/post with the same syllabus must pay an additional fee of ₹100/- per extra post.
- Payment Mode: Online through the KEA portal payment gateway.
Selection Process
The selection procedure comprises the following sequential stages:
- Written Competitive Examination (Offline OMR Based):
- Subject: General Studies & Mental Ability (100 Questions, 100 Marks).
- Duration: 1 Hour 30 Minutes (90 Minutes).
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer or unshaded 5th circle.
- Exam Date: 20th September 2026 (2:30 PM to 4:00 PM).
- Mandatory Kannada Language Test:
- Exempted for candidates who studied Kannada as 1st/2nd language in SSLC or higher, or passed previous KPSC/selection board Kannada test. Unexempted candidates must score at least 50 marks out of 150.
- Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Endurance Test (PET):
- Candidates shortlisted in 1:5 ratio category-wise based on written test marks will be called for physical tests.
- PST (Male & Ex-Servicemen): Height: Min 168 cm, Chest: Min 86 cm (5 cm expansion).
- PST (Female): Height: Min 158 cm, Weight: Min 45 kg.
- PET (Male): 1600m Run in 6 mins 30 secs; Long Jump (Min 3.80m) OR High Jump (Min 1.20m); Shot Put 7.26kg (Min 5.60m).
- PET (Female & Ex-Servicemen): 400m Run in 1 min 30 secs; Long Jump (Min 2.50m) OR High Jump (Min 0.90m); Shot Put 4kg (Min 3.75m).
- Medical Examination:
- Shortlisted candidates (1:2 ratio) undergo vision, hearing, chest X-ray, and physical deformity checks before a Medical Board.
- Document Verification & Final Merit List:
- Verification of original certificates (PUC, 371-J Kalyana Karnataka, Caste/Category, Rural, Kannada Medium, etc.).

- Submit the application form and download/print the final application receipt and fee payment challan for future reference.
