The Directorate of Colleges, Higher Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, has issued Notice No. DC-HE/2026/K/2233 (dated 28-07-2026) for the continuation of Undergraduate (UG) and Integrated Post-Graduate (IPG) admissions across Government Degree Colleges of J&K for the academic session 2026-27.
J&K Higher Education UG/IPG Admission 2026: This official update provides the complete timeline for subsequent seat allocation, including Direct Allocation Rounds (Rounds 10 & 11) for select courses, Walk-in Spot Admission Rounds, and CDP/Achievement Categories (NCC, NSS, ECA, and Sports). Furthermore, candidates who have not yet registered can submit fresh registrations on the centralized portal up to 2nd August 2026.

Admission Schedule Details
The allocation rounds and walk-in schedule for vacant seats across J&K Government Degree Colleges are structured as follows:
A. Direct Allocation Rounds Schedule (For Annexure ‘A’ Colleges/Courses)
Important Note on Admission Cancellation: If a candidate who has already completed admission formalities in any college submits fresh preferences in a subsequent allocation round and gets allotted a seat, their previous admission stands automatically cancelled upon such new allotment.
B. Walk-in Spot Round Schedule (For Non-Annexure ‘A’ Courses)
Walk-in admissions for all colleges and courses not listed in Annexure ‘A’, including online fee payment and physical document verification at respective colleges, are open until further notice.
C. CDP & Achievement Categories (NCC, NSS, ECA & Sports)

Direct allocation rounds apply to specific courses across key colleges in J&K:
- Jammu District: GCW Gandhi Nagar, GCW Parade, GDC Kunjwani, GGM Science College, GMAM College, SPMR College, Cluster University Jammu.
- Kishtwar, Poonch, Udhampur: GDC Kishtwar, GDC Poonch, GDCB Udhampur.
- Kashmir Division: GDCB Anantnag, GDCB Baramulla, GDCB Sopore, GDC Ganderbal, GDC Kulgam, GDCB Pulwama.
- Srinagar District: Amar Singh College, Gandhi College Srinagar, GCW MA Road Srinagar, GDC Bemina, Islamia College Srinagar, SP College Srinagar.
(Courses include Biotechnology, Computer Applications, Botany, Zoology, Commerce, Economics, BBA, Political Science, Mass Communication, etc.)
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Part-II (10+2 / Class 12th) or equivalent examination from a recognized board/university.
- Age Limit: As per the general admission guidelines of Jammu University, Kashmir University, Cluster University Srinagar/Jammu, and relevant autonomous colleges.
Application Fee & Payment Mode
- Registration Fee: Refer to the Centralised Admission Portal guidelines.
- Admission Fee Payment Mode: Online via the official J&K admissions portal during document verification at the allotted college.
Selection Process
The admission selection process involves the following steps:
- Fresh Online Registration: Unregistered candidates must register on https://jkadmissions.in on or before 02-08-2026.
- Preference Filling: Submitting fresh choices for courses/colleges during the active round window.
- Allocation List Publication: Seat merit allocation list published online as per schedule.
- Physical Verification & Online Fee Submission: Candidates report to the allotted college for document verification and complete admission by paying fees online.
How to Apply & Fill Preferences
- Go to the official J&K Centralised Admission Portal: https://jkadmissions.in.
- If not registered, complete the fresh registration before 2nd August 2026.
- Log in using your registered credentials.
- Select your preferred courses and colleges from the active allocation list (refer to Annexure ‘A’ for Direct Allocation courses).
- Lock your preferences before the respective round deadline.
- Check the merit allocation list on the scheduled publication date and report to the designated college with original documents for verification.
