Introduction
Northern Railway Recruitment 2026, Firozpur Division (Punjab) has published Notice No. 40-Med/HVS/FZR dated 14.07.2026 inviting applications for the engagement of Honorary Visiting Specialists (HVS).
The engagement will be purely on a contract basis for a tenure of one year at Divisional Hospital, Firozpur and Sub-Divisional Hospital, Amritsar. Interested specialist doctors meeting the eligibility criteria can submit their physical bio-data and supporting documents to the Chief Medical Superintendent office on or before 17th August 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification & Experience
- Specialists with PG Degree: Post Graduate Degree in the concerned specialty from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 years professional experience after obtaining the PG degree.
- Specialists with PG Diploma: Post Graduate Diploma in the concerned specialty with a minimum of 5 years professional experience after obtaining the PG diploma.
Age Limit
- Preferred Age (First 3 Engagements): 30 to 64 Years.
- Upper Age Limit: The maximum age limit for continued engagement is 65 Years.
Remuneration & Work Tenure
- Monthly Honorarium: ₹67,000/- per month.
- Duty Hours: 2 Hours per day for 6 days/week (10:00 AM to 12:00 PM). In addition, specialists are required to attend emergency calls whenever summoned.
- Deduction Rate: ₹2,792/- per day in case of absence exceeding permissible leave limits.
- Contract Tenure: Engagement is for 1 year at a time, extendable on a fresh contract basis subject to performance evaluation.
- Additional Benefits: 1 Set of complimentary AC 2-Tier Railway Passes per calendar year for self, spouse, and dependent children (available after 3 months of engagement).

Selection Process
Selection for Honorary Visiting Specialist (HVS) posts will be carried out through:

- Interaction / Interview: Recommended candidates will be evaluated by the Medical Committee at Northern Railway Divisional Hospital, Firozpur.
