Job Details
The Indian Army has released the official notification for the NCC Special Entry Scheme 125th Course (April 2027) for unmarried female candidates, including wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel. Selected candidates will receive a Short Service Commission (NT) in the Indian Army and undergo 49 weeks of pre-commission training at OTA Chennai. Online applications are open from 21st July 2026 to 21st August 2026.

Introduction

The Indian Army has published the official recruitment notification for the Indian Army NCC 125 Women Special Entry 2026 NCC Special Entry Scheme 125th Course (Commencing April 2027) for Women. This entry invites unmarried female candidates, including wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army Personnel, for the grant of a Short Service Commission (Non-Technical).

Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of pre-commission training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, and will be commissioned as Lieutenants upon successful completion. Online registration is open on the official Join Indian Army portal from 21st July 2026 to 21st August 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification & Criteria

  1. For NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders:
    • Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. Applicants in their final year can also apply, provided they complete their graduation and submit proof of passing by 1st April 2027.
    • NCC Service: Minimum 2 or 3 years of service in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC.
    • NCC Grading: Minimum ‘B’ Grade in the NCC ‘C’ Certificate Exam. Candidates holding a Provisional NCC ‘C’ Certificate must obtain their final certificate prior to appearing for the SSB Interview.
  2. For Wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army Personnel:
    • Degree Requirement: Graduate Degree from a recognized University.
    • NCC Certificate: NCC ‘C’ Certificate is NOT required for Wards of Battle Casualties.

Age Limit & Nationality

  • Age Limit: 19 to 25 Years as on 01 January 2027 (Candidate must be born not earlier than 02 Jan 2002 and not later than 01 Jan 2008, both dates inclusive).
  • Marital Status: Unmarried Females only.
  • Nationality: Citizen of India, subject of Nepal, or Person of Indian Origin migrated from specified countries holding a valid Government of India eligibility certificate.

Application Fee & Payment Mode

  • Application Fee: ₹0/- (No Fee).
  • All candidates can submit their online application free of cost.

Selection Process

There is NO written test for this recruitment drive. Candidates are shortlisted directly for the interview stage:

  1. Shortlisting of Applications (Based on Bonus Marks):
    • Applications are shortlisted out of 100 maximum bonus marks based on performance in the NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Max 50 marks) and Graduation aggregate percentage (Max 50 marks).
  2. SSB Interview (5 Days):
    • Shortlisted candidates will undergo a 5-day SSB Interview at Selection Centres located in Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), or Jalandhar (Punjab).
    • Stage I pass candidates proceed to Stage II; Stage I failed candidates return on Day 1.
  3. Medical Examination:
    • Recommended candidates after Stage II will undergo a thorough medical examination.
  4. Final Merit List & Joining Letter:
    • Merit list is prepared based strictly on marks scored in the SSB Interview. Candidates falling within the vacancy count and declared medically fit will be issued joining letters for training at OTA Chennai.

Salary Structure & Stipend

  • Stipend during Training: ₹56,100/- per month during 49 weeks of training at OTA Chennai.
  • Rank on Commissioning: Lieutenant (Pay Level 10).
  • Pay Scale: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500/-
  • Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500/- per month (Fixed).
  • Additional Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), Field Area Allowance, High Altitude Allowance, Dress Allowance (₹20,000/year), Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, etc.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official Join Indian Army portal: www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
  2. Click on ‘Officer Entry Application/Login’ and then click ‘Registration’ (Skip if already registered).
  3. Fill in the registration details carefully as per your Matriculation Certificate.
  4. Log in to your dashboard and click on ‘Apply Online’ under Officers Selection.
  5. Locate ‘Short Service Commission NCC Special Entry Course’ and click ‘Apply’.
  6. Complete all required fields across Personal, Communication, Education, and Previous SSB details.
  7. Convert CGPA into percentage as per your University formula before entering marks.
  8. Verify all entries on the summary page and click ‘Submit’.
  9. Print two copies of the application form displaying your Roll Number (available 30 minutes after final closure on the last date).
