The Indian Navy has released an official recruitment notification for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) for Officers in various entries for the course commencing June 2026 onwards at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. A total of 250 vacancies are open for unmarried eligible men and women candidates across Executive, Education, and Technical branches. The online registration window remains active from 9th August 2025 to 1st September 2025 on the official joining portal.

Introduction

Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment 2026. The Indian Navy has published an official notification for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers for the June 2026 (AT 26) Course at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala.

Unmarried eligible male and female candidates can apply online for 250 vacancies across Executive, Education, and Technical branches. The online application submission process starts on 09th August 2025 and closes on 01st September 2025 on the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • General Service [GS(X)] / Hydro / ATC / Pilot / NAOO: BE/B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks. Candidates for Pilot and NAOO entries must have 60% aggregate marks in Class X and XII and minimum 60% marks in English in Class X or XII.
  • Logistics Entry: BE/B.Tech in any stream with First Class OR MBA with First Class OR B.Sc/B.Com/B.Sc(IT) with First Class + PG Diploma in Finance/Logistics/Supply Chain/Material Management OR MCA/M.Sc (IT) with First Class.
  • NAIC Cadre: BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in specified streams (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, IT, Metallurgy, etc.) OR M.Sc. in Electronics/Physics with minimum 60% marks in Class X and XII and 60% in English.
  • Law Cadre: Degree in Law qualifying for enrolment as an advocate under Advocates Act, 1961, with minimum 55% marks from a Bar Council of India recognized college/university.
  • Education Branch: M.Sc (Maths/Operational Research/Physics/Applied Physics/Meteorology/Oceanology/Atmospheric Sciences) with minimum 60% marks OR BE/B.Tech (min 60% marks) in Mechanical/Production/CSE/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation OR M.E/M.Tech in relevant disciplines. Must have scored minimum 60% in Class X or XII.
  • Engineering Branch (GS): BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in Marine, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Metallurgy, Mechatronics, Automobile, Production, or Control Engineering streams.
  • Electrical Branch (GS): BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Power, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
  • Naval Constructor: BE/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in Civil, Mechanical, Marine, Ship Building, Ocean, Ship Technology, Ship Design, Naval Architecture, Metallurgy, or Aerospace Engineering.

Final Year Candidates & Degree Conditions

  • Candidates who have graduated or are in the final year with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent CGPA) are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must complete their educational criteria before joining INA, Ezhimala by June 2026.
  • NCC Candidates: Holders of NCC ‘C’ certificate (Naval/Army/Air Wing with min ‘B’ grade, dated after 01 Jun 2023) will receive a 5% relaxation in cut-off marks for SSB shortlisting.

Application Fee & Payment Mode

  • Application Fee: Nil (₹0/-)
  • There is no application fee charged for registering online for Indian Navy SSC Officer entries.

Selection Process

Selection is carried out through the following systematic stages:

  1. Shortlisting of Applications: Shortlisting for SSB Interview is based on normalized marks obtained by candidates in their qualifying degree. (For final year BE/B.Tech candidates, marks obtained up to 5th semester are considered).
  2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo SSB Interviews consisting of Stage-I and Stage-II testing. (AC 3-Tier rail fare is admissible for first-time SSB candidates).
  3. Medical Examination: SSB recommended candidates will undergo medical examination as applicable to their entry branch.
  4. Final Merit List: Merit list will be prepared based purely on SSB marks for candidates declared medically fit, subject to vacancy availability.

  2. Register your profile or log in if you already have an account.
  3. Fill in your personal details, ensuring name, parentage, and date of birth match your Matriculation certificate exactly.
  4. Scan and upload relevant original documents: marksheets (up to 5th/7th semester for BE/B.Tech or all semesters for other degrees), Class 10th & 12th certificates, CGPA conversion formula, recent passport-size photograph, and NCC ‘C’ / CPL certificate (if applicable) in JPG/TIFF format.
  5. Select your branch/cadre preferences carefully.
  6. Submit the online application form before the closing date.
  7. Take a clear printout of the submitted application form to carry during your SSB Interview.
