Introduction
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) through its Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB) has announced Advt No. ISRO ICRB:01 (A-JPA):2026 dated 27-07-2026. Applications are invited from meritorious Indian nationals to fill 236 vacancies in Level 4 of the Pay Matrix.
The recruited staff will serve as Assistant, Junior Personal Assistant (JPA), Upper Division Clerk (UDC), and Stenographer at constituent ISRO Centres, Department of Space (DOS) Branch Secretariats, and Autonomous Bodies across India. The online application portal is active from 27th July 2026 to 16th August 2026.

Vacancy Details
A total of 236 positions are available across different zones and autonomous institutions. Below is the mobile-responsive zone-wise and post-wise vacancy breakup:
1. Assistant (Post No. 1) & Autonomous Assistant (Post No. 5)
2. Junior Personal Assistant (Post No. 2 & Post No. 6), UDC (Post No. 3), and Stenographer (Post No. 4)
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification & Experience
- For Assistant / Upper Division Clerk (Post Nos. 1, 3 & 5):
- Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from any recognized University.
- The degree must have been completed within the stipulated course duration.
- AND Proficiency in the use of Computers.
- For Junior Personal Assistant / Stenographer (Post Nos. 2, 4 & 6):
- Graduation with minimum 60% marks (or CGPA of 6.32/10) completed within stipulated course duration; OR Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with minimum 60% marks (or CGPA of 6.32/10).
- AND Minimum 1-year experience as Steno-Typist/Stenographer (or BOAT Apprenticeship Training Certificate for DCP/DCCP holders).
- AND A minimum speed of 60 w.p.m. in English Stenography.
- AND Proficiency in the use of Computers.
Age Limit (as on 16/08/2026)
- Unreserved (UR) & EWS: Maximum 28 Years (Born on or after 17.08.1998).
- OBC Category: Maximum 31 Years (Born on or after 17.08.1995).
- SC / ST Category: Maximum 33 Years (Born on or after 17.08.1993).
- Age relaxations apply for Serving Govt Employees, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Meritorious Sportspersons, Widows, and Divorced Women as per Government of India rules.
Application Fee & Payment Mode
- Application Fee: ₹100/- for all posts.
- Initial Processing Fee: All candidates must uniformly pay an initial processing fee of ₹500/- per application (₹1000/- if applying for multiple post groups).
- Refund of Processing Fee (After attending Written Test/CBT):
- Female, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen Candidates: Full refund of ₹500/-.
- Other Candidates (UR/OBC/EWS): ₹400/- refunded (after deducting ₹100 application fee).
- Payment Mode: Online via Bharatkosh e-Payment gateway using Internet Banking, Debit Cards, or UPI.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of two stages:
- Written Examination (Objective Type / CBT):
- Single objective paper consisting of multiple-choice questions.
- Duration: 150 minutes.
- Negative Marking: +1 mark for correct answer and -0.25 mark for wrong answer.
- Qualifying Marks: 50% for UR and 40% for Reserved Categories in individual parts.
- Skill Test (Qualifying Nature):
- Candidates short-listed in a 1:5 ratio based on written test performance.
- Assistant / UDC: Computer Literacy Test (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint).
- JPA / Stenographer: Computer Literacy Test + English Stenography Skill Test (300 words @ 60 wpm dictation + 30 min computer transcription).
- Final Selection: Strictly based on marks obtained in the Written Examination among candidates who qualify in the Skill Test.

- Fill out the application form carefully, choosing your post numbers and test center.
- Upload required documents:
- Recent passport-size color photograph (20 KB to 50 KB, .jpg/.jpeg).
- Signature on white paper with black ink (10 KB to 20 KB, .jpg/.jpeg).
- SC/ST/Disability/Ex-Servicemen Certificate for processing fee refund.
- Pay the processing fee online via Bharatkosh gateway.
- Save the generated Registration Number and print out the application form for future reference.
